Software

Unlike the hardware components which make up the physical computer, software encompasses the operating system itself (i.e. Windows 98 or Windows XP) and then the applications/ programs that are installed and run within that operating system. Examples of those applications would be things such as Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, Mcafee VirusScan and even America Online. Sometimes these program can have problems or not work at all. This can sometimes be caused by two or more software programs that are conflicting with one another, or the program being damaged by a malicious program that got onto the computer such as a virus. Sometimes software can go bad for no specific reason at all or just have inherent problems left behind by their manufacturer. In some cases, failure of hardware components such as memory or the hard drive can cause software problems.

Generally though most problems with computers are software related and rarely are related to the hardware, so just because your machine is having an issue doesn't mean its old or broken and needs to be replaced. Kidbrook is here to help you in determining the causes and correcting them.

Below is just a list of common software programs that you will find on your computer, and that Kidbrook can help you with. If you have any questions or if you are in need of assistance with something you don't see listed, please call or email us.
